Description

The Building Services for this Grade 2 listed warehouse were uplifted to provide an energy efficient modern high quality office.  BCM’s role on this project was to develop a cost effective, low energy and carbon emission solution which:-

  • Had no capital cost premium over traditional servicing strategies
  • Had low running costs
  • Addressed Ocon's corporate carbon reduction agenda
  • Achieved Manchester’s Guide to Development energy requirements of 20% renewable energy technology provision

Successful Outcomes

  • The project was delivered on budget with no cost premium.
  • The project was delivered on time within a very stringent programme.
  • The BCM energy designs resulted in a B rated energy performance certificate which is remarkably good for a listed building.
  • The building is energy efficient and has low running costs due to the innovative use of air source heat pump technology.
